Hello there,

I work with people who are trying to be, do and have it all but who live with anxiety about their worth and fear for the future. They often wonder if the sacrifices they’ve made for “success” have been worth it, given the impact on their relationships, or lack thereof. My clients usually struggle to know who they are outside of the roles they play in the world and are longing to find out what they really want.

As a PACFA accredited Clinical Counsellor and Gottman Method informed Couples Therapist I assist my clients to:

  • learn how to access their emotions, so they come to understand what really matters to them
  • discover how to better manage their nervous system, so they can come back to feeling calm and grounded more often
  • connect with their own inner sense of rightness, so they can make better decisions about their lives
  • find new ways of being in relationship that support their connection with the person they care about the most
  • Working with me, you’ll learn:

  • how to feel better
  • how to be better at relationship
  • how to live your life, rather than someone else’s

  • If you are tired of not knowing how to deal with and move on from this life you thought you wanted, and the pain of it not being enough, working with me will help you to find greater self-acceptance and contentment than you can probably imagine right now.

My name is Susi West. Since 2018 I have been supporting clients in Canberra and online via Zoom to heal their emotional wounds and develop the skills & attitudes that help them to move forward to become the people they’re meant to be, living the lives they’re meant to live.

If you are ready to move on from this stuck place you find yourself in now, find out if you’re the kind of client who responds well to my approach by visiting my Who I work with page.

If you would like to have a free 20 minute confidential conversation about how working with me could help your unique situation, book below.

    • “Susi has a warm, compassionate presence. She listens attentively and gently offers empathy, guidance, and support. Simply by being who she is, she helps create a sense of safety. That safety has allowed me to move into deep, old hurts and begin the process of healing them. Our work together is a place where I feel truly seen, held, and listened to – that kind of relationship is transformative. I am deeply grateful.”
      – Shannon Crossman
    • “I have total trust in Susi. She listens with her whole being and all her caring, giving me space and confidence to sense into deep and vulnerable spaces, without self-censorship. This is a precious gift. With Susi I have been able to uncover and discover parts of myself that I didn’t know were there, and slowly begin to embrace them!”
      – Sharon Waller
    • “It has been such a privilege to work with Susi – since December 2018. Our sessions are a highlight of my week! She combines sensitivity and directness in a magical way. Her compassion is deep, her observations fine-grained, and her intuition virtuosic. She can hold space for what is hugely heavy, but also keeps lightness and humour at hand. She’s very real, very playful, and very affirming.”
      – Elizabeth Adams

    Hello again,

I first felt the call to this work when I was in my late teens. As a child I had been witness to the loss of an unusually large number of close members of my extended family and started journalling at 12 after reading the Diary of Ann Frank. By the time I was 17 I was meditating and very focused on being a good daughter.

I didn’t trust my instincts too well back then so when it became time to choose my path after school I went to university for a science based degree when art and languages were my strengths. I really struggled with everything in those first few years after school, but especially with being away from home for the first time and not knowing who I was or what I wanted.

Probably not surprisingly, I got depressed. And then I found a way through it. While part of the cure was 6 months on antidepressant medication, another more powerful part was the presence in my life of an unusual psychiatrist who had time to do psychotherapy with me.

"People are just as wonderful as sunsets, if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying, 'Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.' I don't try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds."
